New Sai Baba Mandir at Ramanagaram
A new Shiradi Sai Baba Mandir was inagurated on 9th October 2011 at Ramanagaram. The Baba idol carved out of white marbel at Jaipur in Rajasthan was installed today in the new mandir amidst chanting of vedic hymns and other religious rituals. Karnataka Ex Chief Minister H.D.Kumara Swamy, ex minister Zameer Ahmend, MLA K.Raju, ex MLA C.M.Lingappa and many other dignitaries from all walks of life visited the temple and offered their prayers to Lord Baba. The marvelously built mandir will surely become a new land mark of Ramanagaram in coming days.

Sri Rama Chariot Festival
On eve of auspicious Sri Rama Navami Festival, the Chariot Festival of the leading deity of Ramanagaram Town Sri Rama was successfully conducted on 13th April 2011, with all grandeur. The 50 ft tall chariot with idols of Sri Rama, Seetha Devi, Lakshmana and Hanumantha was pulled by devotees on the Agrahara Main Road, M.G.Road, Main Road and Choultry Street.
Thousands of devotees across the district had a glimpse of Lord Sri Rama and offered bananas and “javana” (a kind of leaves) to the lord as devotion. Many individuals and service oriented groups organized “aravantike” across main roads and distributed Butter Milk, Lemon Juice sweetened with Jaggery along with “Kosambari” (mixture of cucumber, moong dal, coconut grating, coriander and chillies) that quenched the thirst and hunger of devotees. Dream Girl Hemamalini campaigns for BJP candidate
Famous film actor and Rajya Sabha Member Hemamalini canvassed for BJP candidate C.P.Yogeshwar at "toy city" Channapatna in Karnataka on 6th April 2011 along with Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa. Bye-election for Channapatna Assembly Constituency is scheduled on 9th April. Hemamalini is known in this part as Basanti, the female lead character of Sholay. Sholay the box office hit three decades ago was entirely shot in Ramagiri Hills at Ramanagaram. Channapatna is just 11 kms away from Ramanagaram on Bangalore-Mysore Highway.
On way to Channapatna from Bangalore, Hemamalini had a chance to look upon the Ramagiri Hills. Hemamalini started her election campaign with greeting the public in Kannada. In her speech Hemamalini recalled many memorable instances during the filming of the mega hit film Sholay.
State BJP leaders Ananth Kumar, Shobha Karandlaje, Eshwarappa, Bacche Gowda, C.T.Ravi, V.Somanna, candidate C.P.Yogeshwar accompanied Hemamalini during the campaign.

Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts commences construction of its engine plant and expansion of its transmission plant at Bidadi
Ramanagaram, 24th Feb 2011: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced today that Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts PVT. LTD. (TKAP) held a ceremony to mark the commencement of construction of its new engine plant and the expansion of its existing transmission plant at Bidadi in Ramanagaram Taluk. This development is a part of the unit localization project.
Mr. Hisashi Suzuki, Managing Director,TKAP unveiled the foundation stone under the august presence of Mr. V P Baligar, Principal Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industry and Mr. Takahiro Iwase, Senior Managing Director, TMC and Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, MD, TKM.
The unit localization project for Etios involves setting up a new engine plant and expanding the existing transmission plant, also an Export Orient Unit. The new production at the plant, representing an investment of approximately Rs. 5 billion. The project was cleared by the State High Level Clearance Committee, Government of Karnataka, in Jan 2011. The production will commence from third quarter of present year and approximately 100,000 engines will be producedper year. From early 2013 the capacity will be increased to 2.40 lakh transmissions.
TKAP currently produces manual transmissions for the “Fortuner” manufactured in India, Thailand and Argentina. It also produces axles and propeller shafts for the “Innova”, manufactured in India.
Talking on the occasion Mr. Vikram Kirloskar said Indian operations play a very important role in Toyota’s global strategy. Making of Etios exclusively for the Indian market and the localization of engine and transmission marks an important milestone in the growth of Toyota in India. Production of engines and transmissions for the Etios will further localize parts production. With the production of these critical parts, the localization ratio for Etios, currently around 70%, is expected to cross 90% he said.
Mr.Hisashi Suzuki in his address said “This project will help generate additional employment for more than 500 members at TKAP. It will also additionally, create opportunities for indirect employment in our supplier fraternity. TKAP, an EOU will now contribute towards localization and will get an opportunity to serve customers in India.”
